1937 George VI Sovereign. The only George VI Sovereign

This - the only George VI gold sovereign was minted in the coronation year of 1937.

Only 5001 pieces were produced and these were never intended for circulation, although some were spent and many were melted down

The obverse of the coin, which has Humphrey Paget's portrait of the king, is twinned with the classic reverse design of Pistrucci's St George and Dragon.

Coins are Proof quality, and in Perfect (FDC) quality.
